Esta conferencia, impartida en Madrid el 30/01/2018, propone un viaje por las huellas del pasado romano de la ciudad de Tarragona. En este recorrido, se atiende a la investigación y la conservación de las construcciones antiguas, como el foro, el circo, el teatro y el anfiteatro, y demás remanentes romanos –los pedestales estatuarios, las villas que rodean la ciudad, mausoleos, canteras, acueductos –, y también a la conciliación de estos elementos con su difusión y disfrute por la ciudadanía. Un “triángulo eficiente” que sería indispensable para el buen funcionamiento de las ciudades históricas, cuyo tejido urbano se transforma y adapta al tiempo presente.
This conference, given in Madrid on 01/30/2018, proposes a journey in the footsteps of the Roman past of the city of Tarragona. In this tour, the investigation and conservation of ancient buildings, such as the forum, the circus, the theater and the amphitheater, and other Roman remnants – the statuary pedestals, the villas that surround the city, mausoleums, quarries, aqueducts -, and also the reconciliation of these elements with their dissemination and enjoyment by citizens. An “efficient triangle” that would be indispensable for the proper functioning of historical cities, whose urban fabric is transformed and adapted to the present time.
