The Antiquity of Southeastern Europe Research Center (OBA) is an autonomous, small unit (ca 10 emplyees) of the University of Warsaw, the biggest university in Poland. The Centre organizes and conducts excavations, as well as early phases of conservation work on various artifacts under research and is also engaged in teaching via an own PhD programme as well as guest lectures of its’ staff in other institutes of the university. It participates in publishing the results of the
investigations and actively cooperates in preparing seminars, conferences and exchange programs for the international scholarly community. OBA currently conducts archaeological research on five sites: Novae in Bulgaria, Tanais in Russia, Rhisinium in Montenegro,Shkoder in Albania and Konsulowskoje in the Ukraine.
